Howe

The quiet village of Howe is located in south Norfolk, between Poringland and Brooke and has a large village green and some pretty thatched cottages. Howe church, St Mary, dates in part to the 14th century and has a round tower. Howe has 3 natural ponds and is surrounded by woodland and fields. This attracts many wild birds to the area and primroses, cowslips, wild orchids and other wild flowers can also be spotted throughout the year. Howe was home to the Sewell family during the 19th century, who were relatives of Anna Sewell, author of Black Beauty. Sewells Lane and Sewells House are now a lasting reminder of these notable residents.
