The 2019 East Anglian Game and Country Fair

This annual two-day family event is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 27th & 28th of April 2019 at the Euston Estate near Thetford, just off the A11.

Euston Hall is home to the Duke and Duchess of Grafton and the estate provides a beautiful setting for this popular annual family event. Returning for the third year, the park and grounds of Euston Estate are the ideal location for this type of fair and all the diverse activities that will be on offer, from clay shooting, dog shows, cooking demonstrations to live music.

Events in the main arena will include a fly-fishing demonstration by world and European casting champion, Hywel Morgan, the Silver Stars Army Parachute Display Team, horseboarding races, falconry displays, British Scurry & Trials Driving, gundog events, terrier racing and heavy horse displays.

Dog lovers can bring their 4-legged companions along to the East Anglian Game & Country Fair and take part in competitions, including the pet dog show which costs 50p to enter per class. All proceeds go to Animal Health and Rescue and the categories to enter are: young handler (under 12 years old), small dog, medium dog, large dog, puppy under 1 year, waggiest tail, rescue dog and best six legs. There is also a dog agility competition and lots of doggie events to watch and enjoy.

The 2019 East Anglian Game & Country Fair has loads of fun activities and entertainment for children of all ages. There will be climbing walls, archery, a carousel, bungee trampolines, slides, simulators, water walking balls, a junior fishing competition and a junior clay shoot competition. There will be alpacas to meet, donkey rides, a football zone, mini Land Rovers to drive off-road and some free singing and dancing workshops for the little ones.

Watch in amazement as Europe’s leading BMX stunt team Mobile Bike Events perform jaw-dropping stunts including back flips. The Thomas Carving Timber Show is sure to keep visitors entertained, with log rolling, speed carving, axe throwing and more. Visitors can also watch pole climbing, chainsaw carving, rescue demos, tree climbing and tree surgery demonstrations.

The Game Fair Country Kitchen is a must for any food lover and will be home to many cookery workshops and demonstrations over both days.Join award-winning chefs including Roger Hickman, Iain Mccarten – The Last Wine Bar & Restaurant, Michael Chamberlain - The Victoria, on the Holkham Estate, Chris Coughbrough - Flying Kiwi Inns and Mark Elvin – Head Chef at the Brasserie Barnham Broom, as they showcase their signature dishes using local, seasonal produce. There will also be many suppliers from across Norfolk and Suffolk bringing their unusual and mouth-watering food and drink for visitors to sample and purchase.

Enjoy live music at The Dog & Duck on site pub, including Bill Downs, tribute act -Take Off That, Dale Bullimore, Sarah Probert, The Knightingales, Simon Fay and Will Chandler.

Browse over 350 shopping stands and a vast array of products, from fashion and footwear through to gun makers and home improvements. The East Anglian Game & Country Fair also has antiques and a vintage fair, gift marquees, craft marquees and health and wellbeing stands. There will be a great selection of local beers and drinks on offer as well as delicious food to sample and buy, in the food hall.

For the third year running, the East Anglian Game & Country Fair will be hosting the Education Zone, housing some of the best independent schools from across the region. Visitors can meet both staff and pupils from these schools in a friendly and relaxed environment and gain an insight into the range of experiences these schools offer.

Children (5 – 16) - £7.00

Family £50.00 (2 Adults & 2 Children 5-16)

Car parking is FREE

Please note that credit card facilities are not available on the gate, however, there are ATM cash machines available at the pay lanes and inside the fair.
