Wiggenhall St Germans
The pretty village of Wiggenhall St Germans is near to King's Lynn, with the River Ouse running through the centre of it. In 1953 St Germans suffered from flooding, but subsequently a new channel was cut to hopefully prevent a reoccurrence of this. A pumping station was built in the 1930s to control the water passing through the Ouse. Wiggenhall St Germans is a typical East Anglian church with aisles and a clerestory but the tower is interesting as it has battlements and attractive castle-like spires. Inside, the bench ends have carvings representing saints and sinners.
