West Bradenham
The quiet village of West Bradenham lies south west of Dereham and east of Swaffham. Its church, St Andrew's, has a 14th century tower porch, 13th century chancel and a 14th century octagonal font. There are many windows and other memorials to the Haggard family of Bradenham Hall, of whom Sir Rider Haggard, author, is most well known. Sir Rider Haggard was a prolific English writer, who published colourful novels set in unknown regions such as Iceland and Constantinople. Haggard's most famous work is the romantic adventure, King Solomon's Mines, published in 1885.
