Houghton

The village of Houghton is located 13 miles from the town of King's Lynn, on the A148 road. Houghton Hall is owned by the Cholmondeley family but was originally built for Sir Robert Walpole. The hall is open to the public for part of the year and has a collection of more than 20,000 model soldiers on display. The gardens of Houghton Hall are a popular attraction and include a fruit and vegetable garden, herbaceous border and a rose garden that features over 150 different varieties.
